Procedure and Information about the Study 

The following online study is part of my bachelor’s thesis at the Department of Media Psychology at the University of Würzburg. The aim of this survey is to systematically investigate preferences for media characters.

Note: For optimal display and user experience, it is recommended to complete the questionnaire using the desktop version of your browser.

Participation Requirements 

Participation in the study will take approximately 15 minutes. I recommend completing the questionnaire in a quiet environment without distractions. Please note that participation is only open to individuals aged 18 and older. During the survey, sociodemographic information will be collected, including age, gender, and sexual orientation.

Voluntariness and Anonymity 

Participation is voluntary. You may withdraw your consent at any time without providing any reason by simply ending your participation in the study. In that case, all data collected up to that point will be deleted and excluded from analysis. There are no disadvantages to withdrawing. It is not possible to trace the data back to you personally.

Data Protection

The data collection is completely anonymous. No personally identifiable information (such as name, address, etc.) will be collected. The data will be stored in accordance with the guidelines of the German Psychological Society (DGPs) and kept securely in electronic form for at least 10 years. In addition, the anonymized datasets will be published on the Open Science Framework (https://osf.io/) to ensure transparency and scientific reproducibility. Because the data is fully anonymized, it cannot be deleted afterwards.
