Dear participant,
thank you very much for your interest in this online study. I am conducting this research as part of my student research project in psychology at Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM). The study focuses on how multilingual university students experience and remember their dreams in different languages.
More specifically, the aim is to examine whether dream recall vividness, sensory impressions, and emotional tone differ between dreams experienced in a dominant language and dreams experienced in a non-dominant language in everyday life. To address this question, the survey asks about your language background, your general dream recall, and one or two selected dreams that you have recently experienced.
All forms of dreaming and dream recall are relevant for this project, including dreams that feel very vague, have only weak emotional impact, or are low in visual detail and are mainly remembered through other sensations or impressions. Your honest answers will help to better understand how language shapes dream experiences in multilingual speakers.
The questionnaire consists of several sections:
– information about you (e.g., age and current enrollment as a university student)
– language background and language dominance
– general dream recall and dreams in different languages
– detailed questions about one or two specific dreams
Completing the questionnaire will take approximately 5–10 minutes. Please read each question carefully and answer as accurately and honestly as you can. If you are currently under time pressure or cannot concentrate well, it is better not to start the survey now and instead participate at a later time, so that the data are as reliable and useful as possible.
