Participant information

This survey is part of a Master’s thesis at IU International University of Applied Sciences. It examines personal investing, investment decisions, and experiences with brokerage platforms in Germany. It should take approximately 12–18 minutes. This estimate will be reviewed after the professional pilot.

Voluntary participation

Taking part is voluntary. You may stop at any time before submitting your response without disadvantage. The questionnaire does not ask for your name, email address, brokerage login details, account numbers, transaction statements, or exact portfolio balance. Once you submit your answers, we may be unable to identify and remove your response because the survey does not collect information that would let us locate an individual response.

Data protection

The survey is administered using SoSci Survey. The project is configured not to collect IP addresses in the survey response dataset, and it does not include a question that records your IP address or other device information. SoSci Survey’s standard configuration does not record respondents’ IP addresses in regular access logs. SoSci states that IP addresses may nevertheless be processed in certain security or error logs, for example when an invalid survey address or access credential is used. The survey may record basic metadata, such as when a response starts and how long it takes to complete. Questionnaires do not use cookies by default, but project settings or added code can change this.
