Information About Participation and Consent

Dear participants,

As part of my bachelor’s thesis at IU International University, I am conducting a scientific online survey on the perception of a short information text about a future technology. The aim of the study is to examine how such a text is evaluated, understood and, if applicable, verified.

Participation takes approximately eight minutes. Participation is voluntary and can be discontinued at any time without giving reasons. You will not experience any disadvantages if you decide to discontinue the survey.

The questionnaire collects assessments of an information text, information on text comprehension, possible use and verification of the information, as well as some general information. This includes, for example, age, gender, study status, field of study, language version and interest in technology.

The survey is anonymous. No names, student ID numbers, email addresses or other directly identifying contact details are collected.

The collected data will be analysed exclusively in anonymised form and presented in aggregated form as part of the bachelor’s thesis. Individual persons cannot be identified from the results. The author of the bachelor’s thesis has access to the anonymised data. As part of the assessment process, it may be necessary to provide the anonymised raw data to the supervising person.
