Dear chess players,

the aim of this study is to investigate the connection between visual imagery and chess performance in order to draw conclusions about the influence of visual imagery on human planning ability.

For this purpose, you will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire on your visual imagery as well as some information about yourself and your chess skills. Afterwards, there is a three-minute IQ test and four visual memory items to control for the influence of cognitive abilities. As the test is timed, we recommend that you answer the questions on a computer (and not on a mobile device) to keep your performance as comparable as possible.

In total, the survey takes no longer than 20 minutes. In return, you can view the results of your IQ test directly after the study (not mandatory if you prefer not to see the results).

The collected data will only be used anonymized. Thus, it is not possible to draw conclusions about your identity or your individual answers.

Thank you for supporting our research!
