Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this survey is to collect empirical data for the Master's thesis entitled "Cultural Differences in Business Angel Investment and Their Influence on Investment Decisions." The study investigates how cultural differences influence the investment decision-making processes of Business Angels. The data collected will be used exclusively for scientific research and for the academic assessment of the Master's thesis.
Legal Basis for Data Processing
Participation in this study is entirely voluntary. The processing of your responses is based on your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Data Collected
The survey is conducted anonymously. No names, contact details, email addresses, IP addresses, or any other information that directly identifies participants are collected or stored. Only the responses voluntarily provided through the questionnaire are processed.
Recipients of the Data
The survey is administered using SoSci Survey, which serves solely as the technical platform for data collection. Access to the collected data is restricted to the researcher and the academic supervisor exclusively for the purpose of conducting, supervising, and evaluating the Master's thesis. The data will not be shared with third parties unless disclosure is required by law.
Data Retention
The collected data will be retained only for as long as necessary to complete and evaluate the Master's thesis. All raw data will be permanently deleted no later than six months after completion of the examination process. Any research findings resulting from this study will be presented exclusively in anonymous and aggregated form.
Your Rights
Where personal data are processed, you have the rights provided by the GDPR, including the right of access (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18), data portability (Article 20), objection to processing (Article 21), and the right to withdraw your consent at any time with future effect (Article 7(3)). As this survey is conducted anonymously, it may no longer be possible to exercise these rights once the questionnaire has been submitted, since responses cannot be linked to individual participants.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe that the processing of your data violates applicable data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. For Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, the competent supervisory authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
