Dear participants,
with this survey, we are seeking your support in assessing criteria for studies on EHS.
Our association, gesund verNETZt e.V. (‘safely connected’), is active in the field of electromagnetic fields and health. With your help, we would like to check whether the aspects we consider important are also relevant to other people affected by EHS. This will allow us to pool our experiences in order to propose better study designs and initiate a reassessment of previous results. In addition, we would like to lobby the relevant ministries and political decision-makers for the implementation of protection zones for those affected. The aim is to improve the situation of those affected.
This survey will be online until 15 February 2026 and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. To participate, you must have health impairments that you attribute to electromagnetic fields.
This questionnaire is not intended for diagnostic purposes and has not been scientifically validated.
The background: The World Health Organization (WHO) is currently reassessing the effects of electromagnetic fields on health. This is based on commissioned systematic reviews (SR) that have lately been published.
Our association was able to submit a statement on two systematic reviews
[1, 2]
to the Round Table on Electromagnetic Fields (RTEMF) of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS). These reviews deal with idiopathic environmental intolerance to EMF (IEI-EMF)/EHS.
We have now been invited to the EMF Round Table (RTEMF) at the BfS, where the results of the reviews will be discussed.
In our opinion, the results of the SRs cannot be used because essential aspects (such as sufficiently realistic radiation characteristics or sufficiently long recovery times) were not taken into account. We have the impression that the responsible authorities view EHS sufferers as too homogeneous a group, with the result that many sufferers have so far fallen through the research net.
When completing the questionnaire, we recommend that you answer as spontaneously as possible, without thinking too much about it. If in doubt, tick ‘don't know’ or ‘no answer’. If you have any questions, please contact research@gesund-vernetzt.de – but please bear in mind that we are volunteers and therefore have limited capacities.
