Declaration of consent and important information on data protection

Please read the following information carefully and confirm your consent at the bottom of the page by ticking the appropriate box.

As part of a university research project at the Chair of Computational Linguistics (Prof. Vera Demberg), an online study on study behaviour and the use of digital learning opportunities is being conducted in cooperation with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence.

In order to anonymously link the data from the questionnaire, tool use and examination performance, your matriculation number will be requested once when you log in. This number is not stored, but is directly assigned a code (i.e. technically anonymised) and only stored under this identifier, so that it is not possible to identify you personally at any time. The entire evaluation is carried out exclusively on the basis of this anonymised code. The examination grades are also passed on to the research team in a completely anonymised form - it is not possible to trace them back to individuals.

Purpose of the study

The study serves the scientific investigation of digital learning habits and the further development of  further development of AI-based teaching programmes at the university as part of a Master's thesis. The data will be processed exclusively for scientific purposes. It will not be used commercially or passed on to third parties. The data collected as part of this study will be analysed and archived by employees and students of Saarland University and DFKI.

Your rights

You have the right to information about your stored data and to rectification, erasure and restriction of processing. The legal basis for data processing is your voluntary consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR in conjunction with § 12 SDSG (Saarland Data Protection Act). All employees and students involved in the study have been informed about the Data Protection Act and are obliged to maintain confidentiality. Your participation in the study is voluntary and can be cancelled at any time without giving reasons and without any disadvantages for you. The data will be completely deleted once the analysis has been completed, but no later than six months after collection.

If you have any questions or wish to exercise your rights, you can contact the research team (felix.jahn@dfki.de) or the university's data protection officer: datenschutz@uni-saarland.de
