Hello

thank you very much for taking the time to participate in this survey on needs and requirements for eye-tracking data processing and sharing.

Content and Purpose

The goal of this survey is to better understand the community’s expectations and needs regarding preprocessing pipelines, software tools, and data sharing standards for eye-tracking research. The results will help us design solutions that are both useful and relevant for different types of researchers and practitioners in the field.

This survey is part of the OpenEye Project, funded by swissuniversities, which aims to foster open standards and improve infrastructures for eye-tracking research.

Procedure and Duration

The survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Please answer the questions as completely and honestly as possible. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers. You have the option to skip individual questions.

Voluntary Participation

Participation in this survey is voluntary. You may stop the survey at any time without providing reasons. This will not result in any disadvantages for you. The information provided will not be used in any way for behavioral or performance monitoring.

Anonymity and Data Protection

  • All data is collected in anonymized form. This means that the responses cannot be attributed to any specific person.
  • The evaluation of the results will be carried out in aggregated form (e.g., percentages or average values). For qualitative responses in free-text fields, the content will be summarized and analyzed thematically. Here, too, the results will be presented only in anonymized and aggregated form. Please note that no personal information (e.g., names, specific events, personal data) should be included in free-text responses.
  • The data collected will be used exclusively for the above-mentioned purpose.
  • The legal basis for data processing is your informed consent. If you have any questions about the survey or the OpenEye project, please visit our project website.
