MUTSPRUNG Monitoring 2026
Welcome
Dear participant,
we warmly welcome you to the 2026 Monitoring survey, part of the MUTSPRUNG project.
By taking part, you support research into the mental health of students and doctoral candidates, and you make an important contribution to the scientific basis for shaping study and doctoral conditions in ways that promote good health.
The Monitoring has two aims. First, we want to gain an overview of the strain currently experienced by students and doctoral candidates. Second, we want to identify possible protective factors and risk factors for mental health.
In this online survey you will work through several questionnaires in turn – covering, among other things, sociodemographic information, your assessment of your own health, experiences relating to mental health difficulties, and your knowledge of and attitudes towards mental health, wellbeing and stigma.
Your answers will be treated confidentially and will be collected and analysed in anonymised form for scientific purposes only.
Duration
25–30 minutes. You can save your progress and continue the survey later.
Participation
Voluntary and anonymous.
Who can take part
Students and doctoral candidates aged 18 and over who are enrolled at a higher education institution in Germany.
A note on potentially distressing topics
This survey is about mental health. It touches on topics such as psychological strain, mental illness and stigma, which may bring up uncomfortable feelings or memories. Your participation is voluntary – you can pause at any time, skip individual questions, or stop the survey altogether. At the end of the study you will find an overview of counselling and support services.
