Flagship species for freshwater ecosystems – conservation and coexistence

Dear participant,

thank you for your interest in this survey!

With this survey, we would like to look into which species could be potential flagship species (i.e. species that can be used as an icon for the conservation of certain habitats) for freshwater ecosystems and how the perception of wildlife affects their conservation. Therefore, we are interested in your attitudes and perceptions towards wildlife.

The completion of the questionnaire is voluntary and should take around 10 to 15 minutes. You can always pause the questionnaire and continue later. If you no longer wish to participate, there will be no disadvantages for you. Please only participate if you are at least 18 years old.

The questionnaire has been developed as part of a research project and a dissertation at Freie Universität Berlin and the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology (IGB), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jonathan Jeschke and Prof. Dr. Tanja Straka.

You will be asked a variety of questions; you do NOT need any preparation or prior knowledge to take part. Simply answer the questions directly and honestly. Further information will be given for each segment.

We would also invite you to share the survey through the online link, if you know anyone else who would perhaps like to participate.

Thank you!
