Dear participants,

hello and welcome to a study about the relationship between implicit and explicit knowledge. To this end, we would like you to participate in two experiments.
In the first part, called acceptability judgement task, you are supposed to intuitively rate 32 English sentence in terms of naturalness and idiomaticity on a scale provided. There will be a timer limiting these ratings to 3 minutes; this is supposed to ensure that you rely on your intuition only.
In the second part, called “Explanations”, you will be asked to explain grammar rules around the use of the word "any". Here you will not have any time limit, but you are again supposed to rely solely on your intuition and provide the explanations without any external support.
